Sister`s Visit~Weekend Getaways

I came to know of my sisters plan to come to the US with her family! They were planning to come in April, starting their trip in Los Angeles, then on to San Francisco, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and then to Seattle! I started planning right away... find out how much sightseeing they want to do and any special wishes for food ??!!!
Finally the day arrived....we picked them up from the airport on a bright Saturday afternoon, had a nice South Indian lunch consisting of Sambhar, Rasam, Varuval, pachadi and Basundhi for dessert~the much needed homemade food after the long and tiring 10 days of travel with kids. Saturday the 25th was the opening day for fishing and my husband went fishing while my sister and the little one rested.
Sunday we drove to Skagit valley for the Tulips after lunch. It was a wonderful experience for them to see the Tulips and the country side.
Wednesday was a trip to Vancouver with a trip to the International Buddhist temple, Suspension Bridge and Stanley park. We had a nice and sumptuous lunch at Sarvana Bhavan and dinner at House of Dosas. I had a chance to take a peek of the kitchen at House of Dosas, where I learnt a few secrets of making crispy Dosai.
The next two weeks we took them around to almost all places in and around Seattle. A trip to Boeing Flight Museum, visited some landmarks in Downtown Seattle like the Space Needle, Pacific Science centre, Aquarium and a cruise along Lake Washington. The other places were Mt St Helens, Snoqualmie Falls and Pass, Alki Beach, Woodland Park Zoo and some shopping.
Saturday was the last day...with a photography session and a drop off at the airport. It was wonderful having them and my daughter had a nice time with her cousins. This was a family reunion we won't soon forget! Everyone felt happy and rested.
